The Skylark Café & Club Presents

Barbara Volk and guests

June 2, 2023 8:00 PM

Beginning with a childhood friendship, songwriters Kyle Armstrong & Nick Roldan have been creating music together for nearly two decades, but their latest retro-inspired, folk-soul group, Barbara Volk, debuted in 2019.

The Pacific Northwest-based, Midwest-raised duo, draws inspiration from a range of influences of the 60s and 70s to create a sound that blends a vintage grit with a touch of modern FM.

Barbara Volk is set to release their debut album The Gold Room in April 2023, an 8-track soul-swelling collection produced by Trevor Spencer (Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty, Chastity Belt), that boasts infectious hooks, soaring vocals, and a rhythm section supported by Chris Iscasiano (Bad Luck, Pure Bathing Culture) and Kelly Pratt (Coldplay, David Byrne, Beirut) to create a vintage-inspired sound built for the modern era.
