The Skylark Café & Club Presents

Our Policies & Procedures

Policies and Procedures are important to keeping everyone safe and prosperous. We make and implement these policies to account for and keep all concert-goers, performers, engineers, and the Skylark personnel in a good place. When performing or attending a show here, please keep in mind those policies that pertain to you and your situation.

Universal Respect

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Pandemic Response

The Skylark's Official Pandemic Response Plan is to attempt to be open for business, while simultaneously taking steps to ensure the safety of all Performers and Patrons. Please take the Pandemic seriously and make recreation with care.

  1. If you are attending an event at The Skylark, your vaccination or negative test records will be checked.
  2. If you are performing at The Skylark, your vaccination or negative test records will be checked.
  3. If you are walking through the front door of The Skylark, you are wearing a mask.
  4. If you are up-and-about at The Skylark, including going to the bar or the rest room, you are wearing a mask.

Blackout Dates Policy

The Skylark asks that you do NOT play another show a week before or a week after your show at The Skylark. If you have a date scheduled in this window, you must inform your producer (usually The Skylark) prior to the show.

Community Stage Policy

When acts are changing, the intent is to minimize the amount of time it takes for set change. Bring your gear to the storage area prior to breaking it down. Help the next act bring their gear on stage prior to breaking down your gear.

Set Policy

Each act is entitled to a 45 minute standard set. If your set is longer or shorter, you must advise the Sound Engineer and the Producer (The Skylark) prior to the show. Set timing is to allow for both a prime-time show as well as to adhere to local noise ordinances.

Sound Check Policy

Your Sound Engineer will be at The Skylark at least 60 minutes prior to the show. By the time the Sound Engineer arrives, you should be loaded-in and ready for sound check. The first act will perform the sound check and the following acts will receive interim checks throughout the night. You should already be here since you arrived 90 minutes before showtime for load-in.

Load-in & Parking Policy

Bands can load-in 90 minutes before show time. Please check in with the Sound Engineer or Bartender upon arrival - you will be instructed where to store your gear. If you are the first act, load-in on stage directly. Second-act and beyond have a dedicated storage space.

Performer Hospitality Policy

Each Human who performs at The Skylark will receive one (1) drink ticket and is entitled to a nice discount for any dinner or menu items ordered.

Split Earnings Policy

Bands earn more as more people attend the show. The first requirement from the show is to meet the Sound Engineering budget for the night. After that, the pot is split between the venue and the performers

Cover Charge & Ticketing Policy

The default cover charge for The Skylark is $10 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and $8 on Sunday. We can pre-sale tickets for the show using our website. This may increase the pre-sale price.
