The Skylark Café & Club Presents

CHONK, Tryin'

September 12, 2025 8:00 PM

Tryin' is a state of mind. We specialize in bringing you an improvisational dance experience unlike any you've had before. After a long stint honing their sound and tone as a duo with a drum machine, Max Rosen (keys/synth) and Tanner Aaron (guitar) brought Nate Thomason( bass) and Brian Bova onboard to provide that live thump the fans have been craving.

CHONK is a four-piece that pays homage to and blends notes of funk, rock, and blues, with notes of psychedelia and intergalactic space noise. Formed in 2024 and hailing from Seattle, CHONK loves to settle into a groove and plunder the depths of a jam. CHONK is Ben Jahn (bass, guitar, vocals), Alex Baeumler (guitar, bass, keys, vocals), Dom Campese (drums, vocals), and David Citrin (guitar, vocals).
