The NightCry
The NightCry sounds like 1987 meeting 2023 in a dark, rainy alley.  Deriving their name from the primal screaming and bawling in the night out of pure frustration with no signs of resolve, Seattle-based band The NightCry was formed by guitarist Andreka Jasek (The Adarna, Homewrecker, Veritas), vocalist Vincent Vuarnet (Thunderhound, DaR), and bassist Shana Fairchild (Revolution Red) in late 2020. After writing several songs, the band captured the attention of keyboardist Hannah Rock (over a decade of classical piano training) and drummer Sarah Campbell (Hairstorm, Dual Analog) who joined to solidify the lineup in 2021.  The NightCry blends influence from the likes of Depeche Mode, The Cult, and David Bowie in creating the unique sound of the band. Their postmodern, dark, romantic synth rock is entrenched in edgy and catchy hooks, tasty guitars, tight beats, and ergonomically sultry vocals; a sound they dub "post modern romance." The NightCry was inspired to create a male-fronted female band by Robert Palmer’s music video for Addicted to Love (but with girls who actually play); a video that highlights cool guitars and high fashion.  The NightCry’s live performance meets at the junction of big rock show and moody romanticism without sacrificing any of their sonically-sensual and distinct vibes. Their focus on 1980s-esque aesthetics tastefully showcases through posh fashion backed by poise and a professional presence. The band dominates the stage with lighting that envelopes them in mystery while executing multi-layered vocal harmonies, vitalizing sounds, and enduring guitar solos.  After successfully releasing and gaining radio play for their first two singles Blush and Find Hers Keep Hers, The NightCry is spending the remainder of 2023 and early 2024 in the studio to complete their first album (yet to be titled).  During that time, the band will also release their third single Who’s to Say along with a music video by Tetraknot, who produced the vampire-dance-party themed video for Find Hers Keep Hers that cameos Seattle icons such as Wanz, Aaron Fury, and Nuda.
